Scott Karaptian Superintendent

Hello, my name is Mr. Scott Karaptian and I am your Superintendent/Principal and greetings to you all!  I must start out by saying what an amazing fall we have been blessed with this year.  I am hoping the same can be said about my first winter in Pentwater.  Our fall sports have wrapped up with our varsity girls’ volleyball team taking the MHSAA Class D District Championship title once again.  They traveled to Mt. Pleasant for regional tournament play during the second week of November and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishment!

We had a very successful Red Ribbon Week that concluded with a school-wide assembly.  All of the students did an amazing job with taking this week very seriously.  Mrs. Fatura and her students did an amazing job decorating and planning activities throughout the week.  I would also like to compliment our teachers for all of the input and assistance that helped to make this week a success.  Mrs. Wagner did an awesome job with College Application Week with 100% senior participation and we are now gearing up for a FAFSA completion workshop in the very near future, please stay tuned for more information.

November 11, 2016, the Pentwater Public Schools honored our nation’s veterans by hosting a ceremony in their honor and treating them to breakfast immediately following the program.  I want to personally thank all of our service men and women along with their families for the sacrifices they have made and will make in the future, to protect our grateful nation, thank you!

In past years our elementary students have participated with Spectrum Health to sponsor the Fit Club, which we will take part in again this year.  We are looking to partner the Fit Club with our PE programs to increase student participation.  We thank Spectrum Health and our staff for helping to make this a healthy venture of wellness for our students.

On November 21, 2016, the PTCO funded an assembly, Tornado Hunters, for our students.  We enjoyed a dynamic K-12th-grade assembly with the Tornado Hunters where they shared their knowledge and personal stories on the subject of severe weather.

Lastly, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff, students and the entire Pentwater community for making my family and I feel welcome in this amazing place.  We are very blessed, humbled and grateful to be able to serve all of you in the Pentwater Public School family and community, thank you!

With respect,

Scott Karaptian, Superintendent
