Our students honored Dr. K's retirement with a surprise celebration on Tuesday, 5/14! Dr. K is retiring at the end of June to be a "full time" Papa to Archie, Leo and the newest, Lainey Lynne! Attached is the video that we shared with Dr. K with a few tears!

The varsity track team took time today to have some fun leading up to our Regional meet on Saturday! A puzzle race, hula hoop pass and paper airplane contest were the events of the competition. Congratulations to the winning team of Ben, Abie, Mackenna, Laura and Anaviolet!
Eliana Mandarano is the daughter of Markus Mandarano and Angela Mull. Eliana plans on attending Aquinas College with a major in psychology and a minor in music performance. She later plans on obtaining a Ph.D. in clinical psychology while performing clarinet on the side. Go, Saints!
Hennessy Hovey is the daughter of Roger Hovey and Pasha Ruggles. Hennessy plans to go into the food industry as a server; bartend for a few years to save up money. She then plans on moving to warm Arizona. "Work, Travel, Save, Repeat." - Unknown.
Mitchel Daniels is the son of Chris and Monica Daniels. Mitchel plans to go into aerospace or mechanical engineering at either Western Michigan University or the University of Michigan. "To boldly go where no man has gone before." - Captain Kirk
The Pentwater Falcons traveled to Mason County Central to compete in the MOM (Mason, Oceana, Manistee County) meet. There was a lot of competition, but it was great to see all of the area talent come together from the three counties. Abe VanDuinen broke his own school record again in the 1600 with a new time of 4:23.73. In total, the Falcons earned 13 places, 4 medals, and 17 personal records! Next up is Regionals on Saturday in Brethren.

Emily Schwarz is the daughter of David and Nicole Schwarz. Emily plans to attend the University of Michigan to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in business. Go, Blue!
Ava Palacios is the daughter of Tarra Perez. Ava plans to take time off and work. She also plans on looking into taking a photography class at West Shore Community College.

The Pentwater Falcons went to the team favorite Manton Invitational tonight. It was a very long meet filled with a lot of fun! New this year was the canoe relay in which a team of 2 handed off a 17 feet canoe with 2 paddles while wearing life jackets to complete a 4 x 100 relay. In addition, there was a co-ed coach/athlete relay, co-ed 4 x 200 pass anything but a relay baton relay, co-ed 4 x 800, throwers 4 x 100 in which an 8.8 lb shot put is used as a baton and the entertaining pole vault relay which uses a pole vault pole as a baton. These are all in addition to the regular running and field events that take place at a meet. In total we had 15 places in the top 7, took home 34 medals and earned 19 personal records! It was a really fun night and every athlete was able to feel good about at least one performance! The Falcons compete again on Monday at the MOM (Mason, Oceana, Manistee Counties) Meet hosted by Mason County Central. Great work tonight team! I am very proud of you all!

Each year, a handful of seniors (Advance Chemistry students) host 8th graders in a panel discussion to give advice and what to expect in high school. 8th grade students submit questions for the seniors to provide insight, such as: "What was the hardest class?", "How do you manage your time?" and, "What's your advice for a good start to high school?". Teachers Erika Fatura (Advanced Chemistry) and Andrea Gallie (Spanish I) facilitate this program in May of each year. Thank you to our seniors and our 8th grade students as they begin to think about their futures and how to establish a great foundation to achieve their goals!
Some high school students took advantage of this glorious day and walked to House of Flavors-Pentwater for a free ice cream cone with teachers, Andrea Gallie and Chad Sampson! Thanks, HOF!

Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff members who made our Family Fun Night a great success! We could not have done it without you. Special thanks to Mrs. Jeruzal and her art students for creating a fabulous Dog Man photo station; Mary and Justin at the Pentwater Public Library and Meg Brown from the West Shore ESD. It was a beautiful evening of fun learning!
Our elementary Family Fun Night on Wednesday, 5/8/24, had a great turnout with close to 140 people in attendance. Students and their families enjoyed creating airplanes, flying them and measuring their distance. They completed both a reading and a math obstacle course. Families also sorted fiction and nonfiction books and learned some fun math games to play at home and so much more! Thank you to everyone who came out to have fun on this gorgeous evening!
