The Pentwater Varsity track team kicked off their first meet of the season at the Hart and Sole Music Invite! It was a competitive meet with 13 schools! We were not able to bring our whole team as nine of them are headed to Italy for a school trip! For those who were able to compete, we had a great meet! Seven of the sixteen athletes participated in their very first varsity track meet. Several of them are brand new to the sport of track! I am so proud of how they were all able to support one another. I could see their confidence build throughout the meet! Abe VanDuinen was our lone medalist earning 3rd place medals in both the 1600 and 800. This team has impressed me so much already in their hard work, dedication and positive attitudes. I cannot wait to see what is in store for the future! We were also able to use our brand new personalized tent! Thank you so much to the Pentwater Sports Boosters for their support! Go Falcons!! 💜💛 3rd Place Finishers Abe VanDuinen - 800m 2:05.40 Abe VanDuinen - 1600m 4:28.62 4th Place Finishers Trey Johnson - High Jump 5’ 6” (PR) (tie for 4th) Kaleb Brown - Long Jump 18’ 11.5” Personal Records Trey Johnson - High Jump 16’ 11.5” and 200m 26.52 Ben Merten - 300mH 48.80 Michael Smith - High Jump 12’ 10” and 800m 3:16.90 Ireland Breitner - 800m 3:30.03 Laura Bortoluzzi Vieira - Shot Put 18’ and 400m 1:33.68 Aubrey Adams - 100m 15.63 and 200m 33.66 Alex Smith - High Jump 4’ and 400m 1:17.40 JoJo Mannor - Long Jump 8’ 11.75”, 100m 17.86 and 200m 38.66 Bailey Case - 1600m 7:09.76 Karina Olivarez - Shot Put 20’ 7” and Discus 52’ 6”

Our 3rd and 4th grade students enjoyed a field trip on Tuesday, 4/2, to The Wildlife Center at Legends Ranch. The students had a great time with two guided tours! The Ranch is set up to explore the outdoors as well as the over 3,000 exhibits of indoor wildlife exhibits! Our tour guides helped students using a passport book to understand what animals they were seeing and to hear first-hand on how conservation, wildlife, predator/prey relationships and population controls have benefits. Students had an engaging experience learning about animal characteristics and being able to touch animal furs, bones and antlers. What a great time; thank you to Legends Ranch and their awesome tour staff!

The Closing Ceremonies, for our Olympic themed March is Reading Month, were quite entertaining. Students participated in some fun games. Mr. Barter did a fantastic rhythmic gymnastics routine. Dr. Karaptian demonstrated his brute strength by performing some weightlifting. All the above were fun ways to wrap up a great month of reading and celebrate students who worked diligently to achieve reading goals. Thank you, it was a fantastic March Is Reading Month!
