Falcons Varsity Softball hosted the first round of districts this Friday, taking on the Mason County Eastern Cardinals. Aggressive base running along with some key hits by Mandi Sayles and Kenna Hasil led Pentwater to an early lead. A stellar pitching performance by Aubrie Adams led the way with 5 strikeouts. Pitching along with strong defense stymied the Cardinals leading to a first round victory for your Pentwater Falcons 8-5. The next game of districts will be on Friday May 31 at Marion High School against the White Cloud Indians.
Official Record: 3-9

The Falcons baseball team hosted Manistee Catholic Central on Tuesday night for their final regular season doubleheader. In Game 1, the Sabers were quickly retired with a 1-2-3 inning, giving Pentwater a 1-0 lead after the first inning. However, the Sabers tied the game with a walk-off home run in the second inning, and the Falcons were unable to recover, losing the first game 19-2. Game 2 was a competitive battle from the start. After a quick first inning, the Falcons scored four runs in the second inning, evening the score at 4-4. The game remained close through six innings, but the Falcons emerged victorious with an 11-9 win. Great season, team! We'll be playing West Michigan Christian in the Districts on June 1st.

🌟 Exciting Announcement! 🌟 Introducing Carrie Jeruzal, the star of this week's Pentwater Staff Spotlight! 🌟 Get ready for a series of amazing features shining a light on the incredible talents within our team. 🦅 Stay tuned for more! 🚀 #PentwaterSpotlight #TeamHighlight 🌟👏💜💛💜💛
This week's staff spotlight shines on Carrie Jeruzal. Carrie is our K-12 Art Educator, Spanish and Art Club Co-Advisor, and a CTE Educator Academy Mentor. Originally from Ludington, Michigan, Carrie graduated from Ludington High School before earning her BA from Hope College and her MA from Western Michigan University. Her family includes her husband Chris, daughters Evalena and Anaviolet, son Christopher, and their Jack Russell Terrier, Susie.
When asked what makes her “Falcon Proud,” Carrie expressed pride in the amazing student artists at Pentwater, saying she loves seeing the art they create each day. She also appreciates the school’s outstanding academic offerings and commitment to the fine arts. Though she doesn't have a specific catchphrase, she often finds herself saying, “It’s time to clean up,” a common refrain for an art teacher. Carrie's advice for artists comes from Edgar Degas: “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
An interesting fact about Carrie is that she has visited the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Thank you, Carrie, for your hard work and dedication at Pentwater Public Schools.

Our Community Pride Day was a success! The rains from the early morning cleared and our students were able to get a lot of cleaning done around the village! You could see your students at the Pentwater Historical Museum, Mears State Park, Pentwater VFW hall, Pentwater library, Pentwater Park Place, Artisan Center, various village gardens, cemetery, Methodist church, as well as various private residences 'sprucing' up these areas before the summer season begins! Thank you to the students, you all did amazingly well and even had some fun! Thank you to those that assisted and directed our workers: Terry Roach and members of the Pentwater Historical Society, Lynne Cavazos , Jenni Cisler, Sue Hopp, Harry Babcock, Mary Barker, Paula Aerts, Jim Carlson, Manny at the State Park, John Faas and, our amazing staff!
