The Falcons took on the opportunity to share the conference tonight in their last home game. The Panthers of Baldwin were determined to be outright conference champs and found their victory. The story was a well written one tonight in the battle for the win. The Falcons gave it everything they could in the second half to close a first quarter deficit they created by missing several shots. Kaleb Brown sparked the Falcons all night with his effort and energy especially in the 3rd quarter 11-0 run. Will Werkema Grondsma, Nathan Macher and Jonny Arnouts also worked endlessly to find the gaps and holes in Baldwin's game. Mikey was able to come alive in the 3rd quarter but struggled to find offense otherwise. In the end, the outcome of the game came down to the battle for the paint. It was a physical one for 4 quarters and the Panther's posts found a way to dominate inside despite the Falcon's team effort. The Falcons lost at home 45-57 and ended the regular season 2nd in conference. Kaleb Brown scored 16pts, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists; Will Werkema Grondsma scored 10pts, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals; Jonny Arnouts 8pts, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal; Mikey Carlson 8pts, 7 rebounds, 1 ast, 1 block; Nathan Macher 6 rebounds' Trey Johnson 3 pts, 2 rebounds. Overall 16- 6; Conference:15-3. The Falcons head to Marion on Monday for District Tournament play, 5:30pm gametime vs. Marion. THANK YOU COMMUNITY AND FALCONS FANS FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT TONIGHT!

On a January 27, 2023 Friday night, two communities came together to save a man's life. According to the Pentwater Fire and Rescue, an elderly man was reported as possibly having a seizure in the lobby of the gym. Teachers, staff, parents and the Pentwater Fire Dept. first responders who were attending the game administered CPR. One of the school's two AEDs was deployed and delivered a shock that restored a pulse and breathing to the man. "There were a lot of things done right that added up to an amazing outcome", said Fire Chief Jonathan Hughart, "We don't usually experience this great of an outcome but a chain of patient care occurred very quickly after the medical event occurred, which probably made a huge difference." Each one of these individuals standing here tonight, Thursday, 2/22/24, used their medical knowledge and their passion to help and worked together to provide the necessary care that saved a man's life. That man is our friend, Mr. Abe Williams, a long standing Baldwin Schools' coach and friend to many. Mr. Abe Williams and his daughter and grandson thanked those people that all helped to save Abe's life on that January night. Lucy Macher Chris Bush Mark Haynor Danielle Roberts Jonathan Hughart Jesse Bowman Oscar Esquivel Brad VanDuinen Amy Grondsma Renea Kieda Amanda Sniegowski Terry Cluchey Kyle Dillingham Dr. Scott Karaptian Ralph Baker, AD Mr. Williams, we are so glad to see that you are doing wonderfully and getting back to enjoying what you love, the sport of basketball. Even though our varsity team didn't get the win this evening, our two communities are now linked with a common thread by this fantastic outcome. Thank you, Abe and family, and thank you, Baldwin Schools and fans, for coming down to Pentwater and making it an exciting night of basketball!

What a beautiful, sunny day to go snowshoeing! There wasn't much snow, but the 3rd graders got to experience the winter sport and learn all about the history of snowshoeing. They also had a lesson on Michigan's winter animals presented by Alan Wernette who is a Ludington State Park Interpreter at Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Thank you Mr. Wernette!

Today marked the conclusion of the indoor track season, full of remarkable achievements and intense competition. It brings me great joy to celebrate the accomplishments of some of our exceptional athletes. During the meet on February 3rd, hosted by Aquinas, Abe VanDuinen secured victory in the 1600-meter event, matching his indoor personal best time and indoor school record time of 4:32.79. Additionally, he impressed by clinching 13th place in the 800 meters, setting a new indoor personal record and indoor school record with a time of 2:11.81. In the meet today, hosted by Grand Valley State University, Abe demonstrated his talents in the 3200-meter race, claiming the 9th position with a remarkable indoor personal best and new indoor school record of 9:48.26. Another standout performer, Logan Fatura, displayed his hard work by securing the 15th position in the shot put event with a new indoor personal best distance of 37' 10.5". Being a sophomore, he only fell short to two non-upperclassmen athletes. Today was truly a testament to the dedication and talent of our remarkable athletes.

In addition to this memorable chemistry experience, the seniors were pleasantly surprised to receive heartfelt thank you letters from the students they collaborated with. These sincere reflections on the 3rd graders gained knowledge deeply touched the seniors. Such remarkable opportunities, exclusive to our K-12 district, hold immense significance for students across all grade levels.

Advanced chemistry students in Mrs. Fatura's class were given the chance to demonstrate an inquiry-based chemistry lesson to Mrs. Macher's third-grade students. This lab experience revolved around unraveling the scientific principles behind a fascinating toy known as "wack a packs." Witnessing both sets of students enthusiastically engaged and thoroughly enjoying themselves was truly exhilarating!
